Alaibe versus Diri: Court to Deliver Judgment Next Week

1107 Views

It is not yet uhuru for the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri as the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri has fixed Tuesday, 10th March, 2020 as the day to deliver its judgment in the case instituted by Timi Alaibe challenging his emergence as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 16 2019 Governorship election in Bayelsa State.

SAYELBA.com recalls that Alaibe had approached the court to challenge the inclusion of elected Local Government officials as delegates for the PDP Primaries, which he believes led to the victory of Diri.

Alaibe is also challenging the legality of the votes of the Ad hoc delegates which contravened the ruling of the Federal High Court directing those votes to be separated into a separate box.
